EUROPEAN STANDARDIZATION COMMITTEE - Comité européen de normalisation (CEN)
In the context of the European Union, the CEN is in charge of defining applicable standards within the EU for several domains, among with the acoustics.
Since 1990, Jean-Pierre Clairbois manages the working group on noise reducing devices, which has now become the European reference for road acoustic control at the European level.

International Institute for Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE)
I-INCE is a worldwide consortium gathering 46 associations coming from 39 countries and dealing with acoustics. Jean-Pierre Clairbois represents Belgium in the name of ABAV (the Belgian acousticians association).
I-INCE has originated several scientific working groups such as those on " the technical assessment of noise reducing devices efficiency", or also " noise as a Global Policy Issue ", in which Jean-Pierre Clairbois has contributed actively.

Walloon region and Walloon ministry of environment and transports (MET)
Authors of the airport noise exposure study for the Charleroi region, we are also member of the steering committee for the reduction of airports nuisance in this region.
Lastly, as organizer of the forthcoming EUROPEAN MEETING DAYS FOR AIRPORT NOISE MANAGERS (due in 2004 in Liege), the MET asked us to be their scientific consultant.

ABAV is a scientific association which objective is to develop knowledge and promote experience sharing in the field of acoustics.

TI-AKOT is an association created by the technical Institute of the Royal Association of Belgian Dutch speaking engineers.

We are members of the SFA.
